Software Testing Course in Karnal with Gen AIManual, Selenium, Playwright & API Testing

Karnal is India's dairy research town. The National Dairy Research Institute sits on the GT Road, and farmers in Gharaunda, Indri and Assandh increasingly manage their buffaloes and cows on a phone. One app records each animal's insemination date, predicts calving about nine months later, schedules FMD and HS vaccinations, flags when a cow should go dry, and logs every litre of milk. If the calving date is off by a fortnight or a vaccination reminder never fires, a farmer loses an animal or a season's income. That is what software testers guard against.

Karnal also sits halfway between Delhi and Chandigarh, with Gurugram, Noida and Mohali, all big QA markets, a few hours away, and plenty of local software use too: basmati rice mills at Taraori, the agricultural research institutes, hospitals including Kalpana Chawla Medical College, banks and schools. Graduates of colleges affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Dyal Singh College, DAV College and nearby engineering institutes usually leave for NCR to start in IT; remote QA work now lets many stay.

This course gets you ready from home. Over six months of live teaching, more than 100 classes and around 165 hours, you start with manual testing (requirements, test cases, Jira, SQL) and go on to programming, Selenium, Playwright, API testing, AI tools and a Jenkins pipeline, finishing with the herd-management app as your capstone. Uncodemy's classrooms are in Noida and Delhi, and each Karnal session is streamed live from there. Total cost: ₹20,650 (tuition ₹17,500, GST 18%), payable monthly at ₹3,442, with placement help built in.

What is Software Testing?

Software testing is collecting proof that an application does what farmers, vets and the business rely on, and catching mistakes before they cost an animal or a payment. Take a dairy herd-management app. A tester confirms that the expected calving date is calculated correctly from the insemination date for cows and for buffaloes, which carry calves longer; that a vaccination reminder appears on the right day and repeats at the correct interval; that an animal marked sold or dead stops getting alerts; that milk records cannot be entered for a cow that is dry; that two farmers cannot register the same ear-tag number; and that the app still works offline in a village with weak signal and syncs later.

The work has a pattern. You decide which failures would hurt animals, farmers or the business most, write test cases someone else could repeat, run them by hand or by script, and when one fails you record the screenshot, data and steps and retest once it is fixed. Testing happens at unit, integration, system and acceptance level, and field apps also need offline, device and sync testing. Agile teams test during every sprint, and regression checks run automatically whenever code changes.

Types of Software Testing You Will Practise

Here is every testing type in the course, paired with the module that teaches it.

  • Functional testing

Features behave as the requirement states

    Modules 1–2
  • Smoke & sanity testing

A new build is stable enough for deeper testing

    Module 2
  • Regression testing

Recent changes have not broken existing features

    Modules 2, 6, 7
  • Cross-browser testing

Consistent behaviour across Chrome, Firefox, Edge and WebKit

    Modules 6–7
  • Database testing

Stored and returned data is correct

    Module 4
  • API & integration testing

    Services exchange data correctly

    Modules 8–9
  • Exploratory testing

    Unexpected behaviour scripts would miss

    Module 2 and capstone

What Does a Software Tester (QA Engineer) Do?

If you join a Gurugram agri-tech start-up, a Noida services company or a remote team, your week will usually involve going through user stories with the product owner, preparing scenarios and test data, testing each new build, raising Jira defects with screenshots and confirming fixes. If you automate, you will also look after the Selenium or Playwright suite, write API tests and find out why a Jenkins run failed. Field apps add offline and weak-signal testing.

Manual Testing vs Automation Testing vs API Testing

Employers in NCR and the tricity expect a tester who can do all three. This is how they differ.

Software Testing Course Syllabus in Karnal

The 165 teaching hours run across thirteen modules arranged like a tester's career path, from manual testing and SQL to UI automation, API testing, AI tools and CI. Each module includes a lab, and in Module 13 you test the whole herd-management app.

13 Modules165 Hours 15+ Tools & Technologies
1Software Testing Fundamentals & SDLC/STLC10 hrs

Module 1 opens in a cattle shed near Indri. A farmer is told his Murrah buffalo will calve in late March, but she calves in mid-April; the app used the cow gestation period for every animal after an update, and the farmer missed the vet visit he had planned. The buffalo's late calf opens the module: you look at what testing is for, its seven principles, how one wrong constant in code becomes a missed vet visit, how Waterfall, V-Model and Agile teams plan work, and how the phases of the testing life cycle relate to the four levels of testing.

2Manual Testing, Test Cases & Bug Reporting12 hrs

Module 2 uses the animal record and reminder screens for test-design practice. Boundaries: gestation days, vaccination intervals, dry-off dates, milk-yield ranges. Equivalence classes: cattle and buffalo, breeds, age groups, owner types. Decision table: which reminders fire for which status. State chart: heifer, inseminated, pregnancy confirmed, dry, calved, lactating, sold or dead. After that you explore the app, run smoke and sanity checks and repeat regression rounds, giving every defect a severity and priority.

Jira
3Agile, Scrum & Test Management8 hrs

In Module 3 you join a pretend agri-tech squad for two-week sprints: a planning meeting, a quick daily huddle, a demo for an NDRI-style vet at the end, and a look back at what went wrong. You build the team's Jira space, and your test plan places animal-health reminders above every cosmetic issue.

Jira
4SQL & Database Testing10 hrs

Module 4 is all about data. You create tables for farmers, animals, inseminations, vaccinations and milk records, then write queries that filter, sort, total, join and nest, both to manufacture believable herds and to show that no sold animal ever got another reminder.

SQL
5Programming Fundamentals with Python or Java15 hrs

Module 5 is your first contact with code, in Python or Java: variables, decisions, repetition, functions, objects, inheritance and errors. You finish by writing a small loader for spreadsheets and JSON files of farmers and animals, so a single test can sweep an entire village.

PythonJava
6Selenium WebDriver & Automation Fundamentals15 hrs

Module 6 points Selenium WebDriver at the vet's web portal. You learn to reach fields through IDs, CSS selectors and XPath, wait for pages properly, deal with pop-ups, frames and second windows, pick breeds and villages from lists and read long animal tables, all organised into PyTest or TestNG suites that run on several browsers.

SeleniumPyTest/TestNG
7Playwright Automation with JavaScript/TypeScript15 hrs

Module 7 teaches just enough TypeScript and then Playwright: locators that use visible labels, checks that wait for themselves, fixtures, a login saved once, an SMS service you deliberately break, photo uploads, running tests side by side and reading traces when something fails.

PlaywrightJavaScript/ TypeScript
8API Testing with Postman & REST APIs12 hrs

Module 8 opens the app's REST interface. You learn what a request and response contain (method, URL, headers, status code, JSON) and practise in Postman with collections, environment settings, token login and schema checks.

PostmanREST APIs
9API Automation & Integration Testing12 hrs

Module 9 moves those Postman requests into code. Each response is asserted, one ear-tag number travels through insemination, pregnancy and calving calls, tokens refresh by themselves and inputs come from files. A final test follows a calving event through the API, a fake SMS gateway and the database, and runs nightly with the UI tests.

REST APIsPyTest/TestNG
10GenAI for Test Case Generation & Test Data10 hrs

Module 10: the state announces a vaccination subsidy, and you test it with help from Gen AI. You ask the model for scenarios, odd cases and sample animals, then correct what it got wrong, and learn why farmers' Aadhaar, phone and bank details must stay out of public AI tools.

ChatGPT
11AI-Assisted Automation, Debugging & Test Maintenance12 hrs

Module 11 seats ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot next to you while you automate. Copilot suggests test code, ChatGPT explains confusing errors and older code, and both help repair unreliable locators. Nothing goes into the repository until you have run it and understood it.

GitHub CopilotChatGPT
12Framework Design, Git, CI/CD & Test Reporting14 hrs

Module 12 tidies everything into a proper framework: page objects, test data in separate files, merges only after review, Jenkins running on each commit and Allure reports a farm-tech manager can follow.

GitGitHubJenkinsAllure Reports
13End-to-End Testing Project & Capstone20 hrs

Module 13 is the 20-hour capstone. The herd app becomes your responsibility: you write the test plan, run the cases, automate the farmer screens, vet portal and APIs, and connect GitHub to Jenkins. The last sessions are about getting hired: improving your CV and LinkedIn, rehearsing a short demo and sitting mock interviews.

How Karnal Learners Attend

Manpreet works in the accounts office of a rice mill in Taraori. The mill closes at six; by seven she is home in Sector 13 and logged into the live batch, which learners in Noida attend at the same moment. When her calving-date test fails, the trainer asks her to share her screen and walks everyone through the bug. She commits her homework before ten. During the paddy procurement rush in October she switches to weekend classes, and around Diwali she uses recordings. On a trip to Delhi, her counsellor fitted her into the Noida classroom for a day at no cost.

What a Typical Week Looks Like in Your Batch

Weekday batches meet on five days for roughly an hour each; weekend batches meet on Saturday and Sunday for longer. Lessons combine an explained concept with a demo, a lab the trainer reviews, and question time. From Module 5 your assignments go on GitHub, and each class recording is available the same day.

Other Courses for Learners in Karnal

Karnal learners also take our Automation Testing course online, as well as data analytics, data science, business analysis and full stack programs. You can preview the content in the free manual testing syllabus or read our blog piece on how to become an automation tester.

Instructors

Each batch is taught by a tester who currently works in the industry, chosen from more than thirty Uncodemy mentors. The course material is checked by an independent technical reviewer, and an external approver signs off the syllabus. You can see each trainer's experience on their card.

Software Testing Jobs & Career Scope in Karnal

Karnal's position on the GT Road gives learners three sources of QA work. NCR (Gurugram, Noida, Delhi) and the Chandigarh tricity (Mohali, Panchkula) are both within a few hours and hire Haryana graduates for office, hybrid and remote roles. Locally, dairy and agri-tech projects linked to the research institutes, basmati mills and exporters at Taraori, hospitals, banks and schools rely on software that has to be tested. Remote-first employers in India and abroad add more openings. Since many colleges in the area produce graduates, freshers who can show automation, API tests and GitHub projects stand out.

Remote and Hybrid QA Roles for Learners in Karnal

Many testers from Karnal now work from home for Gurugram, Noida, Mohali or overseas companies and travel only occasionally. Studying in a live online batch prepares you: video stand-ups, debugging on a shared screen, code reviews before merging, and managing your own day. Remote employers usually check GitHub early, and your projects will be there.

How to Become a Software Tester — Step by Step

Like a crop cycle from sowing to harvest, each stage depends on the one before.

  1. 1

Learn testing fundamentals begin with theory: how software is developed and checked, which levels of testing exist and which testing types employers mention.

  2. 2

Master manual test design practise test design on apps you already use, a mandi-price app or a UPI wallet, picking boundary values, input classes and rule combinations, and log tidy Jira bugs.

  3. 3

Learn SQL become comfortable with SQL so you can check data yourself.

  4. 4

Pick one programming language choose Python or Java and keep practising; TypeScript follows with Playwright.

  5. 5

Automate the UI automate the key journeys in Selenium, then in Playwright.

  6. 6

Test and automate APIs try APIs manually in Postman before automating them.

  7. 7

Use AI tools responsibly use AI to go faster, and check all it gives you.

  8. 8

Build a framework and pipeline organise tests as page objects in Git, run them in Jenkins and share Allure reports.

  9. 9

Publish a portfolio and prepare put projects on GitHub, update CV and LinkedIn, and practise interviews, in Hindi or Haryanvi with friends first.

Time required: roughly six months, about two hours of practice most days.

Is Software Testing a Good Career in 2026, with AI?

It is, provided you keep learning. AI tools can already produce basic tests and code, which means roles limited to repetitive manual checks are declining. Employers want testers who decide what deserves testing, automate wisely, check APIs and integrations, keep test code maintainable and catch AI errors, because a wrong calving date or missed vaccination costs a farmer real money. People who understand users stay responsible for quality, so this course builds manual skill before automation and AI.

How This Course Compares to Other Software Testing Courses in Karnal

A few institutes around Sector 12 and Kunjpura Road run short manual testing classes, and recorded courses are easy to find online. The table shows what each kind of course includes compared with this program.

Live Online vs Classroom — Which Should a Learner in Karnal Choose?

Studying online from Karnal means attending a genuine NCR class while it is happening, with the freedom to ask questions just as you would in the room. Harvest weeks, Diwali or a family wedding in Panipat need not cost you a lesson, because recordings are always available. Your trainers, syllabus, projects, certificate, placement support and fee are exactly the same whichever mode you choose. It only makes sense to book a classroom seat if you will be living in NCR for some time, and moving between modes, if seats are free, does not reduce the six months.

Is This Course Right for You?

2. What is the fee for the Software Testing course in Karnal?

The tuition is ₹17,500 and GST makes it ₹20,650. Studying from Karnal costs the same as sitting in our Noida classroom, and you can spread the payment over six months at ₹3,442* each.

3. Is there an Uncodemy centre in Karnal?

Karnal does not have one. Uncodemy's classrooms are in Noida and Delhi only, and Karnal learners take part in those very classes through a live online link, so trainers, syllabus and fee stay the same.

4. Can I learn software testing without a coding background?

Yes. Arts, commerce and science graduates from Karnal colleges regularly start with no programming background. You write no code in the first four modules, which deal with test thinking, writing cases, Agile teamwork and SQL; Python or Java starts in Module 5, from the very first line.

5. Is manual testing still in demand in 2026?

You need it, but it is rarely enough by itself now. Openings in Udyog Vihar, Sector 135 or Mohali's IT City normally list Selenium, Playwright or Postman as well, which is why the second half of the course teaches browser automation, coded API tests and AI-assisted testing.

6. Should I learn manual testing or automation testing first?

Learn manual testing first, because an automated script can only repeat a test that someone has designed well.

7. Which is better to learn: Selenium or Playwright?

You get fifteen hours on each. Large IT service firms still run many Selenium WebDriver suites, while agri-tech and product start-ups increasingly choose Playwright, so you will know both.

8. Does the course include API testing?

Yes, 24 hours over two modules. Module 8 has you sending REST requests from Postman by hand; Module 9 shows you how to script them as automated API and integration tests using token-based login. Farm, banking and booking apps are API-driven, so interviewers ask about this.

9. Does the course cover Generative AI in software testing?

Yes, 22 hours. In Module 10 you use AI to brainstorm herd scenarios and sample records, then check them yourself; in Module 11 ChatGPT and Copilot help you write and repair scripts. The final judgement is always yours.

10. Will AI replace software testers?

No. AI changes what testers spend their time on. It can produce a draft in seconds, but someone who knows farmers, vets and the rules must still check whether a passing test actually proves anything, and must approve the release.

11. Is this course ISTQB certified?

It is an Uncodemy certificate. Modules 1–2 already teach much of the ISTQB Foundation content; if an employer asks for ISTQB, you can book that exam yourself later.

12. What is the salary of a software tester in Karnal?

QA pay across India generally starts at ₹3–5 LPA. Automation testers usually earn ₹4–8 LPA, and senior SDETs or QE leads ₹15–30 LPA. A Taraori rice exporter's IT team and a Gurugram product company will value the same skills differently, so Uncodemy does not promise a figure.

13. Can a fresher or non-IT graduate get a software testing job in Karnal?

Yes. Freshers with BTech, BSc, BCA or BCom degrees have been hired into QA by NCR and tricity companies, local Karnal firms and remote teams. Expect to design tests for a sample screen, write some SQL, explain your automation project and show your GitHub; we practise all of it with you, and the employer decides.

14. What job roles can I apply for after this course?

Search job portals for QA Trainee, Junior Software Tester, Test Automation Associate or API Tester, and apply for any role that mentions Selenium or Playwright. SDET positions usually need two or three years' experience.

15. Are the classes live or recorded?

Yes, all of them. A trainer teaches each class at its scheduled time and answers questions straight away, and the recording is uploaded afterwards.

16. Do you provide placement assistance to learners in Karnal?

Yes. Karnal learners use the same placement team as classroom batches, which helps with CVs and LinkedIn, runs mock interviews, coaches and shares openings from 850+ hiring partners. We cannot guarantee a job.

17. Is a free demo class available before I enrol?

Yes. You can attend a free online demo, see a real class and ask the trainer questions. The current offer then gives you two trial classes, and you only pay if you decide to join.

18. Can I attend at the Noida or Delhi branch if I visit NCR?

Yes, depending on availability. Since there is a single syllabus for all modes, a trip to Delhi can include a few classes in person at Shakarpur or Sector 1; give your counsellor your travel dates.

Student Projects in Software Testing

Each project copies a real QA task and lives on GitHub. A trainer reviews it like a Gurugram team lead: what risk is untested, would your suite catch a buffalo given a cow's calving date, can another tester extend your code, does Jenkins pass, and can a newcomer run it from the README?
