Creating and Managing Collections
What Is a Collection?
A collection in Postman is a group of saved requests, organized together so they can be run, shared, and maintained as a single unit rather than as individual, scattered requests.
Creating a Collection
| Step | Description |
|---|---|
| 1. Click New Collection | Found in the sidebar under Collections |
| 2. Name the Collection | Give it a clear, descriptive name |
| 3. Add a Description | Optional, but helpful for team members |
| 4. Save | The collection is now ready to hold requests |
Managing Collections
Collections can be renamed, duplicated, exported for backup or sharing, and organized further with folders, helping teams keep large sets of API requests structured and easy to navigate.
Once your collections are set up, the next step is learning how to add requests to them and organize things further using folders.
