Software Testing Course Syllabus in Goa
The 165 hours are spread over thirteen modules arranged as a tester's
work grows: manual work, SQL verification, UI automation, API testing,
AI assistance and CI. All thirteen finish with hands-on work, and in
the last you own the entire booking platform.
13 Module 1: Software Testing Fundamentals & SDLC/STLC - 10 Hours
The first lesson begins on New Year's Eve. A family from Hyderabad
arrives at a villa in Siolim to find another family already inside;
the platform had sold the same nights twice because two booking
requests landed within a second and both passed the availability
check. That double booking opens Module 1, which covers the reasons we
test, testing's seven principles, the path from a race condition to a
ruined holiday, how Waterfall, V-Model and Agile teams plan their
work, and where STLC stages fit among unit, integration, system and
acceptance testing.
13 Module 2: Manual Testing, Test Cases & Bug Reporting - 12 Hours
The booking engine is your design workshop. Season start and end
dates, minimum-stay nights and guest counts give boundaries; property
types (studio, villa, homestay) and guest types (domestic,
international, corporate) form equivalence classes; cancellation
tiers, deposit deductions and tax rules fill a decision table; and a
booking moving from held to paid, confirmed, checked-in, checked-out,
refunded or disputed becomes a state chart. After that come
exploratory charters, smoke and sanity runs and regression loops,
every bug tagged with severity and priority.
13 Module 3: Agile, Scrum & Test Management - 8 Hours
Scrum in a travel-tech startup: sprint planning, stand-ups, a review
where the head of operations sees the demo, and a retrospective, and a
story is finished only when its acceptance tests go green. In Jira you
create the platform's project, columns, workflow, filters and a
dashboard, and your plan places money and availability above design
touches.
13 Module 4: SQL & Database Testing - 10 Hours
SQL across properties, rates, bookings, payments and deposits. Primary
and foreign keys first, then WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY with totals,
joins and nested selects, applied either to fabricate a believable
peak season or to prove that no property was ever booked twice for the
same night.
13 Module 5: Programming Fundamentals with Python or Java - 15 Hours
Coding begins in Module 5, Python or Java for absolute beginners:
values, if-else, loops, functions, objects, inheritance, exceptions.
Its last task is building a utility for CSV, JSON and Excel files of
properties and rates, so one test can sweep the whole peak season.
13 Module 6: Selenium WebDriver & Automation Fundamentals - 15
Hours
Module 6 sets Selenium WebDriver loose on the host's dashboard: IDs,
CSS selectors and XPath to reach elements, explicit waits rather than
fixed delays, alerts, frames and pop-out windows, date pickers and
long booking grids, all bundled as PyTest or TestNG suites that run on
Chrome, Edge and Firefox.
13 Module 7: Playwright Automation with JavaScript/TypeScript - 15
Hours
Module 7 starts with just enough TypeScript and then moves to
Playwright: locators based on roles and visible text, expectations
that retry, fixtures, an authenticated session saved for reuse, a card
payment forced to decline, property-photo uploads, parallel execution
and trace files that replay a failure step by step.
13 Module 8: API Testing with Postman & REST APIs - 12 Hours
Under both the host dashboard and the guest app run REST services.
Module 8 explains how client and server talk, verbs, URLs, headers,
response codes, JSON, before you build Postman folders, flip between
environments, sign in with tokens and assert payload shapes.
13 Module 9: API Automation & Integration Testing - 12 Hours
In Module 9 those requests are rewritten as code: every response
asserted, a booking ID passed from availability to payment to
confirmation calls, automatic token refresh and payloads from files. A
final check traces one booking end to end, endpoint to fake gateway to
database, and joins the browser suite's nightly schedule.
13 Module 10: GenAI for Test Case Generation & Test Data - 10
Hours
When the company launches a monsoon long-stay discount, Gen AI
produces the first round of scenarios, edge cases and imaginary stays;
you then audit that draft, noting what is absent or simply wrong, and
learn why guests' passport numbers, phone numbers and card details
belong nowhere near a public chatbot.
13 Module 11: AI-Assisted Automation, Debugging & Test Maintenance
- 12 Hours
Module 11 makes ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot your coding companions.
Copilot suggests test bodies as you type, ChatGPT decodes an exception
or an inherited helper, and both propose sturdier locators, but you
run each suggestion and make sure you understand it before committing.
13 Module 12: Framework Design, Git, CI/CD & Test Reporting - 14
Hours
Module 12 reorganises the scripts into a framework, with page classes,
data kept in separate files, branch-and-review Git habits, a Jenkins
job on each commit and Allure summaries the operations team can read.
13 Module 13: End-to-End Testing Project & Capstone - 20 Hours
Capstone. The booking platform's quality is yours: you write its test
plan, execute the cases, script guest screens, host dashboard and
services, and make GitHub trigger a Jenkins build on every push. The
closing hours focus on hiring: a résumé and LinkedIn that lead with
results, a ten-minute tour of your work practised, and simulated
panels.
