Acceptance Testing

Beta Testing

What is Beta Testing?

Beta testing is conducted by a limited group of real, external users in a real-world environment, gathering feedback before the final public release.

Key Characteristics

  • Performed at the customer's/user's site, in a real-world environment.
  • Conducted by real, external end users, not internal staff.
  • Occurs after alpha testing, closer to the final release.

Goal of Beta Testing

The goal is to gather genuine user feedback on usability, performance, and any remaining defects in real-world conditions, before the software is made generally available.
