Date Calculator: Count Days and Working Days Between Dates

Count days between dates, or add and subtract time from a date.

  • 📆 Days between dates
  • ➕ Add or subtract
  • 💼 Working days

How to use the Date Calculator

  1. 1. Pick a modeChoose days between dates, or add or subtract.
  2. 2. Enter your datesSet the dates, the amount and your weekly off days.
  3. 3. See the answerGet the result, with working days where it applies.

Counting days between two dates

The basic count includes the start date but not the end date. So Monday to Friday of the same week is 4 days. Tick Count the end date too to get 5. Use this when both days count, such as a leave period.

Here is a worked example. From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 is 364 days, or 365 with the end date counted. With Saturday and Sunday off, the first count holds 260 working days.

If the end date comes first, the tool swaps the dates and tells you.

Adding and subtracting dates

The tool adds years and months first, then days. Month ends need care. Adding one month to 31 January 2026 gives 28 February 2026, because February has no 31st. In the same way, one year after 29 February 2024 is 28 February 2025.

Tick the working days box to count only working days. From Friday 6 November 2026, one working day later is Monday 9 November with a Saturday and Sunday off. Years and months still move by the calendar first.

A note on holidays

Working days here remove only your weekly off days. Public holidays differ by state, employer and year, so they are not removed. Subtract them yourself for notice periods or legal deadlines.

Common uses include counting down to an exam, planning a notice period, checking a project deadline and working out a due date.

For your age, use the age calculator. For meetings across countries, use the time zone converter.

Frequently asked questions

Does the count include the end date?

Not by default. Tick the box to include it.

Are public holidays removed from working days?

No. Only your weekly off days are removed, because holidays differ by state and employer.

What is 1 month after 31 January?

It is the last day of February, since that month has no 31st.

Is the date calculator free?

Yes. You share your name and WhatsApp number once when you see a result, and other Uncodemy tools then open without the form.
