Your password stays on your device
Every password here is made inside your browser. It is never sent to Uncodemy or to anyone else, and it is not saved on this page. The name and number form you see at result time only collects those contact details. Your passwords are not part of it.
The tool uses crypto.getRandomValues, the secure random source built into browsers. This matters because the ordinary random functions in programming are predictable and were never meant for security. We also avoid a common mistake called modulo bias, which makes some characters slightly more likely than others.
What makes a password strong
Length matters most. Every extra character multiplies the number of possible passwords, while swapping a letter for a symbol adds very little. A long random password beats a short clever one.
Randomness matters next. People choose names, birthdays and patterns, and attackers try those first. A password from a generator has none of these patterns.
One password per account. When a website is hacked, attackers try the leaked password on other sites. A unique password stops that from spreading to your email or bank.
Simple habits that keep you safe
- Use a password manager, so you only need to remember one strong main password.
- Turn on two-factor authentication for email, banking and social accounts.
- Never share a password or an OTP over a call or chat.
- Change a password straight away if a service reports a breach.
Already have a password? Test it with the password strength checker. Need random numbers instead? Try the random number generator.
Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to use an online password generator?
This one runs fully in your browser. The password is never sent over the internet or stored by us. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
How long should my password be?
Use at least 16 characters for important accounts if the site allows it. Longer is better when a password manager remembers it for you.
Why avoid look-alike characters?
Characters such as O and 0 or l and 1 are easy to mix up when you type a password by hand. Turning them off helps, with a very small cost in strength.
Is this tool free?
Yes. You enter your name and WhatsApp number once when you see your first result, and all other Uncodemy tools then open without the form. Your password is not part of that form.
