- 2. Spin the wheelPress the button and watch it turn.
- 3. See the winnerThe result appears when the wheel stops. Remove the winner if you want another draw.
Is this wheel fair?
Yes. The winner is not decided by the physics of the animation. Before the wheel starts to turn, the tool picks an entry using your browser's secure random generator, and every entry has exactly the same chance. The wheel then animates to land on that entry. It can stop anywhere inside the winning slice, so the spin looks natural without changing the odds.
If you enter the same name twice, it gets two slices and so two chances. You can use this on purpose to give an option more weight.
Ideas for using the wheel
- Teachers. Pick who answers next, or choose a topic for revision.
- Team leads. Decide who presents first, or who runs the next stand-up.
- Friends and family. Settle where to eat or whose turn it is to do the dishes.
- Giveaways. Paste entrant names and spin on a live stream, so people can watch it happen.
Tips for smoother spins
You can add up to 100 entries. Labels get smaller as the wheel fills up, so for very long lists the random number generator may be easier to read. Long names are shortened on the wheel, but the winner is always shown in full.
To draw several winners, tick Remove the winner before the next spin, and the last winner leaves the list before the next turn. If your device is set to reduce motion, the wheel skips the long animation and jumps to the result. Your entries stay in your browser. Timing the game? Add the countdown timer.
