How to use the PDF to JPG
- 1. Choose your PDFPick one PDF, or drop it on the box.
- 2. Set quality and pagesChoose a DPI and, if you like, a range such as 1-3, 5.
- 3. Download the imagesGet one JPG, or a ZIP when there are several pages.
Which DPI should you pick?
DPI decides how many pixels each page gets. An A4 page at 100 DPI is about 827 × 1169 pixels, while at 300 DPI it is about 2481 × 3508 pixels. Higher values look sharper but make larger files and take longer.
- 100 DPI: sharing on WhatsApp or viewing on a phone.
- 150 DPI: a good default for most documents.
- 200 DPI: small print that must stay readable.
- 300 DPI: printing, or feeding pages into OCR.
When you convert more than one page, the images come together in a single ZIP file, named by page number.
When PDF to JPG helps
Convert a page to an image when a form accepts only JPG uploads, when you want to post a page on social media, or when you want to use a single page in a slide. It is also the first step for reading a scanned PDF: convert it here, then run the images through Image to Text.
The images are pictures of the pages, so links and selectable text are gone. A locked PDF will ask for its password, which is used only in your browser, and a wrong password gives a clear message. To shrink the images, use the image compressor. To rebuild a PDF, use JPG to PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Pages are rendered in your browser, so your PDF stays on your device.
How do I convert only some pages?
Type a range in the Pages box, such as 1-3, 5. Leave it blank to convert all pages.
Is it free?
Yes. We ask for your name and WhatsApp number once when your result is ready. Other Uncodemy tools then open without the form.
Why is one font different in the image?
If a PDF does not include its fonts, your browser uses the closest font on your device. PDFs with embedded fonts look the same as the original.
