What is kept, and what may change
The tool reads the structure of your document, lays it out on PDF pages in your browser, and writes each word in its place. English text stays selectable in the PDF.
- Kept where possible: headings, bold, italics, underline, numbered and bulleted lists, tables and images.
- May differ: exact fonts, colours, text boxes, columns, headers, footers and page numbers.
Hindi words and symbols such as ₹ are placed as small images, so they look right but cannot be selected. Because the tool works from the structure of the file rather than running Microsoft Word, a complex layout will not match exactly. Always compare the result before you send it.
Only .docx files
Old .doc files use a different format and cannot be read here. Open the file in Word or Google Docs, use Save As, choose .docx, and add it again. Password-protected Word files must be unlocked first.
For a resume with a heavily designed template, exporting from Word itself (File, then Save as PDF) gives the closest match. This tool is most useful on a shared computer or a phone without Word, for plain letters, assignments, notes and reports.
Need to go the other way? Use PDF to Word. To attach certificates after your document, add them with Merge PDF, and if the file is too large, try Compress PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Does my document get uploaded?
No. Conversion runs in your browser, so your Word file stays on your device.
Can I convert a .doc file?
No, only .docx. Save the file as .docx in Word or Google Docs first.
Will the PDF match Word exactly?
Not always. Basic formatting, tables and images are kept where possible, but fonts and complex layouts may differ.
Is it free?
Yes. We ask for your name and WhatsApp number once when your PDF is ready. Other Uncodemy tools then open without the form.
