What this converter does, honestly
This tool reads the text stored inside a PDF and rebuilds it as paragraphs in a real .docx file. It works out line breaks and paragraph gaps, joins words split by a hyphen at the end of a line, and marks larger text as headings so Word can show them in its navigation pane.
It does not recreate the page design. Tables turn into plain lines of text, images are left out, and multi-column pages may need tidying. Think of the result as clean, editable text rather than a copy of the layout. For a resume or a report that you plan to reformat anyway, that is often all you need.
Scanned PDFs need a different route
A scanned PDF is a set of pictures with no text inside, so there is nothing to extract. The tool detects this and tells you instead of giving you a blank document. For those files, convert the pages with PDF to JPG, then read them with Image to Text.
A quick test: open your PDF and try to select a sentence. If you can, this tool will work. PDFs with Hindi text in older non-Unicode fonts may come out as wrong characters, because the file stores font codes rather than real letters. To go back the other way, use Word to PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded to convert it?
No. The text is read in your browser, so the PDF stays on your device.
Will the Word file look exactly like my PDF?
No. You get the text and basic paragraphs and headings. Tables, columns and images are not preserved.
What if my PDF is scanned?
Scanned PDFs have no text. The tool tells you, and you can use PDF to JPG followed by Image to Text.
Is it free?
Yes. It is free, and we ask for your name and WhatsApp number once at result time. Other Uncodemy tools then open without the form.
