Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) Certification Cost: Fees, Discounts & Tips
The Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) exam is priced as an entry-level certification, making it one of the more affordable ways to start validating cloud knowledge.
Exam Fee
- Microsoft sets a standard fee for AZ-900, typically lower than Associate or Expert-level exams
- Pricing is set in USD and converted to local currency for candidates outside the US
- Always confirm current pricing on Microsoft's official certification page, as fees can change
Available Discounts
- Students may be eligible for discounted vouchers through Microsoft's student programs
- Microsoft occasionally offers free or discounted exam vouchers during learning events
- Some training providers bundle exam vouchers with paid courses
Tips to Save Money
- Use the free Microsoft Learn modules to prepare, avoiding the need for paid courses
- Take official practice assessments to avoid a costly retake
- Watch for seasonal Microsoft promotions offering discounted vouchers
Because AZ-900 requires no technical prerequisites, thorough self-study using free resources is often enough to pass on the first attempt, saving both time and money.
