SUMIFS
SUMIFS adds up values in a range, but only for rows that satisfy one or more specified conditions.
Syntax
=SUMIFS(sum_range, criteria_range1, criteria1, [criteria_range2, criteria2], ...)
Example - Single Condition
=SUMIFS(D2:D100, B2:B100, "Noida")
' Sums column D where column B equals "Noida"
Example - Multiple Conditions
=SUMIFS(D2:D100, B2:B100, "Noida", C2:C100, ">01-01-2026")
' Sums sales for Noida orders placed after 1 January 2026
SUMIFS vs SUMIF
SUMIF only accepts a single condition, while SUMIFS supports multiple conditions and lists the sum range first rather than last.
All criteria ranges in a SUMIFS formula must be the same size and shape as the sum range, or Excel will return a
#VALUE! error.
