Profile Basics

Every JIRA user has a profile containing their name, avatar, email, time zone, and notification preferences, accessible from the account menu in the top corner of the screen.

What You Can Configure

• Personal details and avatar/profile picture.
• Notification schemes—which events trigger an email or in-app alert.
• Personal dashboards and saved filters.
• Connected applications and access tokens.

Why It Matters

Correctly configured notifications ensure testers are alerted the moment an issue is assigned to them or moves to a status requiring their attention, such as "Ready for Testing."
