What is the Proxy Recorder?

The Postman Proxy Recorder captures HTTP traffic passing through your browser or application and automatically converts it into Postman requests, without manually building each one from scratch.

How It's Used

After configuring the system or browser to route traffic through Postman's proxy, a tester performs actions in the application; Postman records each network call, which can then be saved directly into a Collection.

Why It's Useful

It is a fast way to discover and capture an application's real API calls when official documentation is missing or incomplete, giving a starting point that can then be refined into proper test requests.
